Rules
You must...
  • follow these guidelines where possible. The staff understand there are circumstances that arise where a rule becomes void.
  • play a maximum of three rounds per gather. If a team should win two of those rounds before the third round, that team is declared the winner and the gather is over. If the gather results in a draw, no additional rounds are to be played.
  • play the default map specified by the IRC bot in the first round, unless all players agree to change the default map.
  • stay on the team assigned by the IRC bot, unless all players agree for players to switch teams.
  • get to your gathers as quickly as possible. It is not fair to keep others waiting for a substantial period of time.
  • keep periods of !pause to a minimal where possible.
  • remain in your base between rounds while the next map is being decided.
  • not make global messages as a spectator if a user playing requests for you to remain quiet. (NEW)

Do not...
  • hack.
  • !add to a gather and then not show up.
  • leave a gather without explanation and without finding a substitute player.
    • Please note: if you leave lots of gathers midway through, even if you manage to find a substitute player every time, punishment may still follow as you are constantly disrupting gathers.
  • excessively pause.
  • disrupt gathers, regardless of whether you are a participant or a spectator.
Examples of disruption include, but are not restricted to:
    • Camping/Barretting.
    • Using only secondary weapons.
    • Talking excessively during rounds.
    • Constantly whining or insulting others.
  • !add for another person.
  • abuse or flood IRC or ingame !commands.
  • initiate votekicks or votemaps.
  • spam the IRC channel or advertise other services in the IRC channel or ingame.
  • induce lag intentionally.
  • avoid bans.
  • impersonate another player to boost or degrade their stats.
  • impersonate a staff member.

You are allowed to...
  • !pause the gather, if you cannot resolve a matter, and retrieve an op to help solve the problem.
  • appeal bans made by #aus.gather ops in the "Ban List, Appeals and Reports" forum setup on ASCTFL Forums in a mature manner.
  • leave #aus.gather if you do not wish to abide by these rules.
  • play with different team sizes above the default 3v3 layout only if all of the initial gather players agree for the teams to be increased in size. (NEW)

To ensure stats are recorded, ...
  • after the last round of the gather is played, wait until the next map has loaded.
  • do not use any !commands until the server instructs you to. Premature use of !map or !random could eliminate a round from the stats.
  • make sure you use the correct ingame nickname and keep your IP up-to-date.
  • play a maximum of three rounds, and only leave once the server has declared a winner or a draw.

Failure to follow these rules will result in punishment.
